Coachmen Certificate
(For safe and responsible carriage driving)
The coachmen Certificate is similar with a driving license, only not officially required, but recommended.
By gaining the Coachmen Certificate you contribute to a safer practice of equestrian and strengthening the position of the recreational horse in several countries in Europe.
Coachmen Certificate implies:
• the knowledge and skill with a horse carriage on public roads.
• responsibly deal with the horse carriage
• as a guest in the field knows to behave
• etiquette knowledge

The Coachmen Certificate Exam consists of two parts.
A theory test consisting of 35 multiple choice questions, 28 of which must be answered properly to succeed. The syllabus contains all the required information.
With the practical exam, the student must correctly fit and put a harness on and hitching a single horse . Very important is, showing a controlled horse using the Achenbach System. Also the student must do a few special exercises, like a turn on a small road. The practical exam takes place in a public area.
The Achenbach System can be used for a single horse carriage up to a six in hand. It is based on safety and practicality. We love teaching the Achenbach system, because we can always be confident to answer any questions and give the students a good solid reason why we do things in a certain way. It makes sense.
Cost of the course is 595 Euro p.p.
This price includes 7 nights in double-room, full-pension, lesson material.
Drinks are not included.
